01 Pricing
- Do you charge for a diagnostic?
- Swift Tech charges a flat $69 diagnostic fee. It is waived in full if you approve the repair. If you decline the repair, $69 is the total owed and there is nothing further to pay.
- Do you offer free estimates?
- No, and deliberately so. Swift Tech charges $69 for a diagnostic and says so up front. A real diagnosis takes a technician, a stocked van and an hour of testing, and a company advertising that work as free has to recover the cost somewhere — usually inside the repair price. Charging for it separately is what keeps it from being padded in.
- When do I find out what the repair will cost?
- Before any work starts. Swift Tech diagnoses the fault, quotes the repair price in writing, and waits for your decision. No work begins on an unapproved price.
- Is the $69 charged per appliance or per visit?
- Per visit. Swift Tech repairs both HVAC systems and household appliances, so one technician can diagnose a heating or cooling system and an appliance on the same visit under the same single diagnostic fee.

- What areas do you serve?
- Swift Tech serves six areas across Maryland and Virginia, dispatched from Frederick, MD: Frederick, Potomac and Rockville in Maryland, and Reston, Great Falls and Herndon in Virginia.
- Do you serve Montgomery County, Maryland?
- Yes. Swift Tech covers Montgomery County, Maryland, including Potomac and Rockville.
- Do you serve Fairfax County, Virginia?
- Yes. Swift Tech covers Fairfax County, Virginia, including Reston, Great Falls and Herndon.
- What if I am just outside your service area?
- Call anyway. Swift Tech regularly takes work beyond the six named areas and will quote an honest arrival window before you commit to anything.
- Do you have a walk-in location or showroom?
- No. Swift Tech is a mobile service business with no storefront and no showroom. Technicians dispatch from Frederick, MD directly to your address, which is also why there is no showroom overhead built into the invoice.
03 Response times and scheduling
- How fast can you get here?
- Every Swift Tech service area carries a guaranteed arrival window, quoted before you book: 30 to 60 minutes in Frederick MD, 45 to 75 in Potomac MD, 50 to 80 in Reston VA, 60 to 90 in Rockville MD, 75 to 105 in Great Falls VA, and 90 to 120 in Herndon VA.
- What are your hours?
- Swift Tech is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Sunday is by appointment.
- Do you handle emergencies?
- No-heat and no-cooling calls are prioritized ahead of other work, as are refrigeration failures where food is at risk. Call rather than using the booking form for these — the form is answered during business hours, and calling gets you an arrival window on the spot.
- Will the repair be finished on the first visit?
- Usually. The components that commonly fail are stocked on the van, so most repairs complete on the first visit. Where a part has to be ordered in, Swift Tech tells you the timeline before the work is agreed.

- Do you repair appliances as well as HVAC?
- Yes, and that is unusual. Swift Tech runs both trades: heating and cooling systems, and household appliances including refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and ranges. The same technician handles both, on one visit and one diagnostic fee.
- What HVAC systems do you work on?
- Swift Tech services central air conditioning, gas and electric furnaces, heat pumps, dual-fuel and propane systems, boilers, ductwork, and commercial rooftop units across Maryland and Virginia.
- Do you work on high-end and built-in appliances?
- Yes. Swift Tech services built-in column refrigeration, integrated wine storage and professional-series cooking equipment, including premium brands that many appliance shops decline.
- Do you do commercial work?
- Yes. Swift Tech services commercial HVAC across Maryland and Virginia, including packaged rooftop units, commercial split systems, restaurant make-up air, and scheduled maintenance contracts with written reports for property managers.
- Will you work on a system another contractor installed?
- Yes. Swift Tech services every major residential brand regardless of who installed it.
